Frequently asked questions.

  • I work with many people presenting with various concerns, and find the best approach is the one that works best for the individual. One approach doesn’t work for everyone, so I don’t stick to one way of doing therapy. I’m constantly expanding upon my experience and learning through ongoing education. This keeps me updated about new research, and adds to what I may offer as a therapist.

If I were to be more specific (with more therapy-nerd lingo), I have a preference for Person-Centred Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also utilise DBT, IFS and some CBT. The way I go about deciding which to use with a person is through Process-Based Therapy (PBT). This is an approach to therapy that uses evidence-based therapies depending on the client and their specific and unique circumstances, while making sure they’re treated like a person - not an array of symptoms and diagnoses.

  • You’ll receive an email with a link to our online appointment, which does not require you download any apps for it to work. Clients are able to use their mobile phone, laptop, or PC to connect to these appointments. Video connection is preferable, but an audio-only meeting can be requested.

  • Technical issues happen! If the internet connection goes offline and cannot be restored, I will attempt to continue the appointment via phone call from a private number (if prior informed consent has been provided).

Existing clients can find more information about this and more in the service agreement sent to you, in the section regarding Telehealth service.
